You can not miss just watching a show that has won eight Tony Awards in 2003, including best music! "Hairspray" has a simple story that easily gets into the heads of college going children. This entertainer hour 2 minute 40 depicts the culture 60's and revolves around a girl ambitious with long hair!
This girl with long hair has a still greater passion – dance. She participates in a local TV dance show entitled "The Corny Collins Show" and won a seat. During the night, this simple girl becomes a teen celebrity wild. However, the general challenge begins now. Is a passionate dancer and a fashion phenomenon in a position to win the Princess Series? Can she convince the dashing Link Larkin? Can it be grouped in a television without having to part with her long hair? Many questions and the show "Hairspray" answers.
The star cast of this incredible show includes a lot of fine players who have helped make "Hairspray" refreshing dynamic and full of life. They include John Pinette, Tracy Turnblad, Edna Turnblad, Haylie Duff, Shannon Durig, Amber Von Tussle, Wilbur Turnblad, Stephen DeRosa, Penny Pingleton, Aaron Tveit, Caissie Levy, Link Larkin, Todd Michel Smith, Tevin Campbell, Darlene Love, Seaweed J. Stubbs, Isabel Keating, Motormouth Maybelle, and Velma Von Tussle.
The creativity behind this remarkable performance is the behind-the-scenes team that cared for every detail to make this show more effective and impressive. Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan are the authors of the book "Hairspray." The show is directed and choreographed by Jack O'Brien and Jerry Mitchell respectively. The music is given by Mars Shariman. The lyrics are made by Mars Shariman and Scott Wittman. The sets are designed by David Rockwell and costumes designed by William Ivey Long. The lights and sounds are provided by Kenneth Posner and Steve C. Kennedy, respectively.
"Hairspray" is on dance and the struggle to make it big through it. Therefore, there will be some fabulous dance moves here. The stage is excited by a choreography magnificent and outstanding performance of each character. Although the Broadway show will be performed on a film that is due to release in July, watching the characters is live on stage is a totally different experience. Over there are moments where the band comes to you after the show and sign autographs!
